FORD 8N TRACTOR MANUALS, PARTS AND DECALS
In July of 1947, the manufacturing of the iconic Ford 8N began. Over half a million of these tractors were built, making them one of the best selling tractors of its time, and with an original price of $1,404 ($12,650 in today's dollar) they were priced to sell. The 8N had a 4-speed transmission, which was a welcomed upgrade over the 2N's and 9N's 3 speed transmission. In addition to the transmission, the 8N featured a PTO and drawbar horsepower upgrade, putting out a modest 23.16 CLAIMED horsepower at the drawbar, and a claimed 27.32 HP from the PTO.
One of the drawbacks of the Ford 8N was its lack of a live PTO. This was later addressed with the PTO overrunning coupler. The 8N also featured the Fergusons 3PT Hitch System, although did not have the badge of the previous tractors, due to the Ferguson/Ford agreement ending.
With 524,000 Ford 8N tractors being built, there is no wonder that there is a large aftermarket for these machines. Jensales is proud to offer well over 3,000 parts that fit your Ford 8N. If you are needing a new pressure plate, or clutch kit, we have you covered. Of course, you wouldn't want to split your antique tractor without a bit of help from the Ford 8N service manual. Make hard starts a thing of the past with a carburetor rebuild kit, for either the Marvel Schebler or Zenith carburetor.
